Observation
What did Jesus ask the blind men?
Explanation
Jesus didn’t respond immediately to the blind men’s pleas. He waited to see if they had faith. Not everyone who says he wants help really believes God can help him. Jesus may have waited and questioned these men to emphasize and increase their faith. When you think that God is too slow in answering your prayers, consider that he might be testing you as he did the blind men. Do you believe that God can help you? Do you really want his help?

Application
What factors can prevent us from believing that we will receive what we ask for?
Prayer
Thank you God that you listen to my prayers. Please increase my faith in you so that I can believe wholeheartedly in what I ask for.
Verse of the Week:
Matthew 9:12-13
On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.
Do you believe that I am able to do this?
In the book of James it is written that if we doubt when we ask for wisdom, that we will not receive it. Conventional wisdom and logic help us to live our lives, but they can work against us when it comes to believing in God’s power to change our circumstances. This is not to say that we should set it aside, but to be flexible understanding that God is not bound by his own creation.
