Marriage at the Resurrection pt 2
29 Jesus replied, “You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God. 30 At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven. 31 But about the resurrection of the dead—have you not read what God said to you, 32 ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’[b]? He is not the God of the dead but of the living.”
33 When the crowds heard this, they were astonished at his teaching.

Jesus reminded them that life in the resurrection is quite different from this life. It does not merely continue this world and its arrangements, but it is life of a completely different order.
Jesus demonstrated the reality of the resurrection using only the Torah; the five books of Moses, which were the only books the Sadducees accepted as authoritative. If Abraham, Isaac and Jacob did not live on in resurrection, then God would say that He was the God of Abraham, instead of saying “I am the God of Abraham.”
What questions do you ponder most about heaven?
To be honest I don’t think much about heaven. It is enough for me to know that Jesus promised that it would be a place with no more suffering and that we will be ultimately happy being with God. Perhaps I should contemplate it more to motivate myself to evangelise more?
True Ben. I don’t really seem to really comprehend what heaven is to be honest. Yes, there will be no more crying or tears, only eternal happiness, and yes, we will be constantly singing His praises and yes, the victory will be ours. But what will life really be like in heaven? What will our day-to-day be like? I guess it’s something I’ll have to wait to find out.
